Well I guess my new years resolution has to be to make more of an effort with updating the St Piran’s Stud blog, I can’t believe that so much time has escaped since I last put an entry in!
The foals are growing well and become more beautiful every day. Although one should never wish time away, the excitment about this years crop of foals reaching 3 years old and being ready to train is very much anticipated. In the mean time the fillies run as a small herd and the colts run together with Danzante RPB from the 2008 breeding season
Life at the stud is as busy as ever. We are now only 4 weeks off going onto foal watch with Capi, our top bay purebred Spanish mare from Yeguada Susaeta. Once again she is in foal to Gavilan XX and whilst we just hope for a safe foaling, a filly would be lovely as we could begin to build our own cobra of mares, but a colt would be a fabulous addition for dressage and breeding. Capi is due to foal at the end of Febuary, so we are hoping for some sunny dry weather – definitely wishful thinking!
